Hello Again

Well I actually deleted this blog back in January because I was focusing on a move across the country. Well we are moved but not settled and in the process we have miss placed some books I was suppose to do reviews on. :( I am sorry.

Review - Awesome Science

I was given the chance to review Awesome Science - Explore the Yosemite & Zion National Parks. My first reaction was WOW!

What I liked: I loved the fact that Noah is engaging, speaks well and keeps your attention and doesn't bog you don't with to much information. My oldest son loved the fact that he was a child and knew all this cool science stuff. I also loved the fact that the video gave information about what the evolutionist believe and what the creationist know is true.

I can say the only thing I didn't like about this video was it was to short it left me wanting more. :)  I can say I am not a big fan of science but I loved this movie.

I love that this video is a family thing, Kyle Justice  his two sons Noah & Jeremiah all work together to make this awesome video and all the others in the series.

Quite Around Here

It's been really quite around here on the blog. Honesty I have issues with writing about my life cause to me its boring. I have some reviews that I do need to post but I think after I am caught up I will try to keep this updated a little more.

Understanding Theology in 15 Minutes a Day - Daryl Aaron ~ Review

     Understanding Theology in 15 Minutes a Day by Daryl Aaron is a book that helps you answer questions about the Christian Faith.

     First off let me say I am no expert on the Bible or the Christian faith by any means. I am sure most Sunday School students know more then me. I read this book hoping it would help, but for me it did not. I was completely overwhelmed. Like I said my knowledge is limited and it doesn't take much to overwhelm me. I believe for me the information was to dense. It did however help answer some questions that I had and also made me think of questions I haven't thought of yet.

     I believe that this book would be helpful to someone with more knowledge and understanding. Even though I was overwhelmed I still enjoyed reading this book and maybe getting the chance to read another one of his books.

American Patriots - Rick Santorum ~ Review

     American Patriots by Rick Santorum is a book about normal citizens that defied all odds to fight for their God and country. The book mentions people that you don't normally hear about. It tells about their bravery and the sacrifices that they had to endure.   

     Yesterday I just finished a book that I wasn't sure I would enjoy. Growing up I hated history class cause normally it wasn't exciting. All I remember is that we had to memorize names and dates.
    
     Well I can say it my American History book was written like American Patriots by Rick Santorum I might have paid better attention. Mr. Santorum writes in a way that makes you want to keep reading. I think if more Americans were like those ones in this book we might not be where we are today.

     I loved this whole book, I was actually sad when it ended and that's saying a lot because I am not a history fan. I am a homeschooling mom that will require my sons read this book when we go through American History and I will also encourage them to be like these Patriots.

     I would suggest that our public school systems American History books be rewritten but then they might have to actually tell the whole truth.

     Our founding fathers used God and the Bible to help start our country and I think that our Government Leaders have forgotten that.

Been Lazy

     Well I have been slacking on doing school work with the boys. I know its bad but sometimes mommy just needs a break from the fighting. I have some trouble with my GE. He is always saying that its boring. Well I don't know how to make it fun. I am a product of the public school system where school was always boring.

     I want to make it funner for the boys but I just don't know how. I don't even know my sons learning styles. GE & PK are total opposites when it comes to school work. PK wakes up and wants worksheets and GE will avoid school at any cost.

     With being on unemployment again for the 4th time in less then 3 yrs its been hard to afford good curriculum for them. I mainly use things I can find for free or from The Book Samaritan. If it wasn't for this group I am not sure I would have continued.

     If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
